      موضوع اصلی فیلم در سریال به سرعت مطرح می شود و وقت مخاطب را تلف نمی کند. به جز مصطفی زمانی که تا حد زیادی به تکرار افتاده است، بازیگران کمتر دیده شده ای در فیلم می بینیم که این کار قطعا از رونماییِ بازیگران متبحر اما تکراری بهتر است. نقش های کاظم (پوریا رحیمی سام)، گیسو (هدی زین العابدین)، دانیال (بانیپال شومون) و رها (سارا بهرامی) باعث شده یک دورهمی از کاراکترهای مکمل پدید بیاید که این موضوع برای دنبال کردن آن ها در فیلم اهمیت دارد. در واقع نکته مثبت سریالِ کرگدن، جمع شدن آن ها برای رسیدن به یک هدف است. نکته دیگری نیز که تا حد زیادی به قسمت اول این سریال هیجان داده، معرفی توانایی های تک تک آن ها در یک تدوین موازی است که هم ریتم خوبی را ایجاد می کند و هم زمانِ حال را از دست نمی دهد. اما آنچه از همین ابتدا می رود تا دل مخاطب را بزند، استفاده زیاد از نماهای شلخته برای ایجاد هیجان است که بیش از پیش در صحنه موتورسواریِ نوید به چشم می آید. نماهایی که فقط سعی کرده اند از زوایای مختلف گرفته شوند و به اصطلاح ریتم صحنه را بالا ببرند، اما وقتی خود اتفاقی که در صحنه می افتد چندان چنگی به دل نمی زند، تدوین هم نمی تواند کمک چندانی به این موضوع بکند.

      "کرگدن" درباره چند مرد و زن جوانی است که به دلیل توانایی های فردی شان وارد یک چالش عجیب به نام کرگدن می شوند. چالشی که به آنها گفته می شود رویکرد تبلیغاتی داشته و بابت آن مبلغ بسیار خوبی نصیب شرکت کنندگان خواهد شد. اما این چالش اتفاقی است که در حقیقت این چند جوان را به مسیری ترسناک هدایت می کند و اتفاقات گوناگونی را رقم می زند.
      "کرگدن" می خواهد یک سریال اکشن جذاب باشد که پشت پرده روابط مافیایی را به تصویر می کشد. اما به نظر نمی رسد که سازندگان سریال جز اندیشیدن به این جایگاه، اقدام عملی موثری را برای رسیدن به چنین موقعیتی انجام داده باشند. استفاده از نماهای اشتباه مانند آنچه که در سکانس مشت زنی شاهد هستیم ( نماهای بی ربطی مانند استفاده از هلی کم برای نمایش مناظر اطراف رینگ! )، سطح سریال را کاهش داده و قصه پردازی ضعیف هم مزید بر علت شده تا فیلم علی رغم پتانسیل های موجود، اثری ضعیف باشد.
